What is a Shamanic Journey Practitioner
The purpose of a shamanic journey is to receive information and energy to assist in in guidance, healing, and growth. In a shamanic journey, the practitioner enters into an altered state similar to deep meditation which gives them access to the spiritual realms or non-ordinary realty. In this state they work with power animals, helping spirits, and guides who assist them in their journey.
During a shamanic journey session, I ask questions on your behalf along with being shown areas that need healing. Messages, guidance, and power animals are brought back to assist you. Often blockages are released and soul pieces are found and returned. During a session I am often guided by my helping spirits to do energetic and spiritual healing on you to help with trapped emotions and physical challenges.
Shamanism believes that when there is a trauma and an individual dissociates, part of one’s vital essence will leave in order to lesson the impact. The shamanic practitioner journeys to retrieve this vital essence and bring it back to you. As you honor and welcome back your missing soul piece often you will feel more balanced and complete.
In shamanic cultures, a power animal is considered an individual’s guardian angel. Receiving your power animal during a journey is a gift and developing a relationship with one’s power animal and the attributes they bring can be like getting back a best friend, a companion, a guide, and a protector.

In our culture, a client may receive a soul piece, power animal, or shamanic healing and then go back to work, or have to go pick up their kids. It is important to know the power of this ceremony and to take time to honor it. It helps to be gentle with yourself as you integrate the energy and gifts from your journey. A soul retrieval can be a powerful ceremony for someone who is struggling with depression or feels like they are not themselves.
Shamanism is a cross-cultural spiritual path practiced in every continent of the world. It is the most ancient spiritual and healing practice known to man. In fact, shamanism and shamanic healing date back to over 100,000 years and is remarkably similar everywhere even though, throughout history there has been little contact between shamans in widely divergent parts of the world.
All shamans are distinguished by their ability to achieve visionary states of consciousness in which they can redirect their focused awareness away from everyday physical reality and into the hidden, inner worlds, all while very much awake. Shamans also act as great teachers, for they teach that everything is spirit. They teach that all things are interconnected and alive, including (but certainly not limited to) the Earth itself, the stars in the sky, and even the wind in the air. This capacity to apply wisdom from the spirit realm in order to heal and transform the physical realm is what differentiates shamans from other “spiritual travelers
